All the following rules and conditions apply and are binding once La Lingua La Vita, program of The Language Center srl accepts registrations. Registrations can only be confirmed on receipt of a written or on-line confirmation form from the school. These confirmation forms have been approved and is certified according to ISO 9001-2008 Quality Standards and are stored in the school’s Intranet Archives system which is TLC/LLLV’s electronic database.
The minimum age of admission at La Lingua La Vita is 18; however, the application of admission of a minor will be accepted with a signed letter of consent by the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.
LESSONS
Courses run from Monday to Friday except for National Holidays. Private lessons may be held over the weekend.
Students are required to attend lessons following the timetable provided in the confirmation form. This form will be sent a week before the beginning of the course.
Each lesson lasts 55 minutes.
Group courses are usually held in the morning.
The entry level of students is assessed through a preliminary written test which is attached to the confirmation form of registration. The total tuition hours include an end of course test which is held during lesson time, however this test is not compulsory.
Group courses have 4 lessons a day and require at least 4 participants of the same level which is based on the initial entry test. If there are only 2 or 3 students in a class of the same level then the course will be reduced to 3 lessons a day and that amounts to 15 lessons a week. However if instead there is only one student that cannot join a group then his/her hours will be converted into 2 one-to-one lessons per day without extra costs to add.
The course coordinator will be at hand to sort out any class changes or any specific course needs that require attention
NATIONAL HOLIDAYS
The school will be closed on Easter Monday, la Festa della Liberazione (25April), la Festa del Lavoro (1May), Festa della Repubblica (2 June), Assunzione di Maria (15 August), All Saints (1 November) e Immacolata Concezione (8 December), Santo Stefano (26 December).
We cannot provide reimbursement for days missed due to National Holidays. These lessons cannot be rescheduled.
ACCOMODATION
The school provides accommodation for students who are regularly registered for LLLV courses.
Booking period starts on Sunday afternoon, the day of arrival and runs to the Saturday the day of departure at the end of the course. Arrivals dates can be advanced or extended subject to accommodation availability at an extra cost as detailed in our price list and brochure.
On the day of departure students are required to leave their accommodation by 11:00.
You will be charged an extra for gas consumption for heating during the winter months and should be paid separately.
The school acts solely as an intermediary and cannot be held responsible for any disputes between landlord/ host family and guests.
All the accommodation provided by the school has been carefully selected based on their suitability location, cleanliness, comfort, and furnishings. Families are chosen based on their reliability, character and also cultural background so that they can interact with students using standard and educated Italian. The students are treated as members of the family and are involved in the family’s daily life.
Accommodation varies in furnishing and layout from family to family as these are private homes However the school monitors suitability and quality of these lodgings.
On registration the students are obliged to inform, in the relevant section of the registration form, the school of any kind allergies, to food or pets and if they have any specific needs that may affect their stay. The school assigns accommodation based on this information.
The school coordinates student arrivals by providing students with their landlord's or host family's contact numbers to allow communication in case of emergencies or last minute changes.
As the school is closed on Saturdays or on Sundays, students should inform the school of all changes to travel arrangements by the Thursday of the week before the course is due to start.
In case of complaints the student should contact the front desk at the school and ask to speak to the staff in charge of the program “La Lingua La Vita”. Only if there is a serious and proven cause of dissatisfaction will the school change the student’s accommodation.
TAXI SERVICE
The school can arrange a taxi on behalf of students. This can be booked no later than the Thursday before the student’s arrival. Students will be obliged to supply a contact number at the time of booking and the school needs to be able to forward to the taxi service all the student’s relevant travel details in time
In case of changes to the students travel arrangements or flight delays students are required to inform the taxi service immediately . Taxi information (mobile number) will be given in advance to the student.
The school cannot be held responsible for poor communication between the agency and the school or if the student does not comply with conditions set out above.
PAYMENT
At the time of booking the students can choose whether they intend to pay the full cost of the course or 200 Euros non- refundable deposit. Payments can be made in cash or by bank transfer or credit card.
The balance must be paid no more than 15 days prior to the start date of the course.
If students do not pay the balance due on the first day they will not be allowed to attend the course and will lose their right to accommodation .
TERMS OF PAYMENT
Payments can be made in cash, by bank transfer, credit cards or through Western Union.
Students must pay the taxi service directly to the driver.
Bank charges should be paid by the student .
REFUNDS and penalties
This is TLC/LLLV’s cancellation policy:
Refunds will be made payable for cancellations according to the number of days prior the start of the course, as is stated in the confirmation form approved by ISO 9001-2008 Quality Standards
Refunds will be paid as follows and do not include bank charges:
70% of the total in the case of cancellation between 30 to 16 days prior to the start date of the course
50% of the total in the case of cancellation between 15 and 8 days prior to the start date of the course
No refunded will be provided for 7 or less days prior to the start of the course
The above is also applicable for clients who have not paid for the course. The cancellation policy becomes applicable 30 days prior to the start of the course regardless of payment status and penalties will be applicable as listed above
These penalties are applicable also in the case of not having provided notification of the course cancellation
No penalties will be applied over 30 days notice
30% of the total cost of the course will be applied from 30 to 16 days prior to the beginning of the course
50% of the total cost of the course will be applied from 15 and 8 days prior to the beginning of the course
70% for cancellations after 7 days prior to the beginning of the course
REFUNDS APPLICABLE AFTER ARRIVAL
No refunds will be provided if students decide they do not want to attend the course or to interrupt their course after it has started.
No refund will be provided for late arrivals or early departures with the exception of special circumstances (certified death or disease of family members).
No refund will be provided for missed lessons.
REFUNDS FOR ACCOMODATION ON ARRIVAL
No refunds will be provided for late or early departures with the exception of special circumstances (certified death or disease of family members). Students may be allowed to change their accommodation only under particular circumstances and for very serious reasons as stated in the section “ Accommodation Rules”.
You are illegible for a refund only if you have given at least 4 weeks’ notice.
PERMESSO DI SOGGIORNO - STUDENT VISA
La Lingua La Vita offers support to students applying for a student Visa known as a permesso di soggiorno. The school will provide students who require a visa all the relevant information about obtaining a visa and all the necessary paperwork that you need to submit to Embassy or Italian Consulate before their arrival. Once you have reached Italy the school will help students complete all the relevant paperwork ( fill in forms, send documentation through the post office, managing interviews with La Questura of Perugia).

INSURANCE COVER
The school strongly recommends students to get appropriate medical cover before travelling to Italy. LLLV has insurance cover as required by Italian Law for students while on the school premises and involved in outdoor activities organized by the school.
