General Rules

All the following rules and conditions apply and are binding once La Lingua La Vita, program of The Language Center srl  accepts registrations. Registrations can only be confirmed on receipt of a written or on-line confirmation form from the school. These confirmation forms have been approved and is certified according to ISO 9001-2008 Quality Standards and are stored in the school’s Intranet Archives system which is TLC/LLLV’s electronic database.

The minimum age of admission at La Lingua La Vita is 18; however, the application of admission of a minor will be accepted with a signed letter of consent by the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.


Courses run from Monday to Friday except for National Holidays. Private lessons may be  held over the weekend.

Students are required to attend lessons following the timetable provided  in the confirmation form. This form will be sent a week before the beginning of the course.
Each lesson lasts 55 minutes.
Group courses are usually held in the morning.

The entry level of students is assessed through a preliminary written test which is attached to the confirmation form of registration. The total tuition hours include an end of course test which is held during lesson time, however this test  is not compulsory.

Group courses have 4 lessons a day and require at least 4 participants of the same level which is based on the initial entry test. If there are only 2 or 3 students in a class of the same level then the course will be reduced to 3 lessons a day and that amounts to 15 lessons a week. However if instead there is only one student that cannot  join a group  then his/her hours will be converted into 2 one-to-one lessons per day without extra costs to add.

The course coordinator will be at hand to sort out any class changes or any specific course needs that require attention


The school will be closed on Easter Monday, la Festa della Liberazione (25April), la Festa del Lavoro (1May), Festa della Repubblica (2 June), Assunzione di Maria (15 August), All Saints (1 November) e Immacolata Concezione (8 December), Santo Stefano (26 December).
We cannot provide reimbursement for days missed due to National Holidays. These lessons cannot be rescheduled.


Accommodation procedures for students enrolling in any of our programs at The Language Center include the following:

All costs for students enrolling a weekly course (Sunday-Sunday) are detailed in our price list and in our brochure online. On the day of departure students must vacate the apartment by 11:00am. It is possible to extend your stay both prior to the start of the course and after the course finishes depending on accommodation availability.  Extra fees will be applied.

You will be charged an extra for gas consumption for heating during the winter months and should be paid separately.

The school acts only as an intermediary for housing, while responsibility for positive daily interaction remains strictly between the host family and the students. All accommodation offered by the school was selected by management based on location, structure and conditions, furnishings, cleanliness and comfort. Host families were chosen based on criteria such as professionalism, reliability as well as personality, cultural background and hospitality. All families are required to interact with students in standard Italian, and selected families have agreed to accept the student/students as part of their family by involving them in the life and activities of their members. Although private homes will vary in size and layout, all meet the required standard of quality that is regularly checked by our school. In deciding housing for the student, the school takes into account the demands expressed by each individual when enrolling. The student is required to report specific allergies to pets, food intolerances or any other kind of discomfort.

Arrival at apartments and / or host families is initially coordinated by the school.  Students will be provided with the phone numbers of the owners of the apartments and/ or host families in the event of an emergency or change in arrival time. Please note that the The Language Center office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, so the school is able to assist with accommodation logistics only on weekdays.  In case of any unlikely problems or concerns that may arise at the assigned accommodation, the student must contact the main office directly at The Language Center. We ask each student to submit any complaint in writing, and the expected time to resolve the problem is at maximum eight hours.

For serious and proven reasons of dissatisfaction, the school will offer alternative accommodation to the student (if available), at no extra charge. 

Acceptable reasons for disatisfaction of accommodation include:

1. Problems with electricity, plumbing and/or heating.

2. Dirty room and/or unhygienic conditions.

3. Wi-Fi is not present if included in original housing offer.

If the customer is not satisfied with the service received and decides to find other accommodation without notifying the school and / or without giving the school a chance to find a solution to the problem, the student will lose the right to reimbursement and / or compensation. Students will be responsible for any damages that may occur on objects or furnishings in the accommodation, as well as any problems that directly affect the host family members and/ or animals, etc. Teachers represent The Language Center and therefore adhere to the guidelines set by the school.  They are very happy to help clarify all rules and procedures for students when needed.


The school can arrange a taxi on behalf of students. This can be booked  no later than the Thursday before the student’s  arrival.  Students will be obliged to supply a contact number at the time of booking  and the school needs to be able to forward to the taxi service all the student’s relevant travel details in time
In case of  changes to the students  travel arrangements or flight delays students are required to inform the taxi service immediately . Taxi information (mobile number) will be given in advance to the student.

The school  cannot be held responsible for poor communication between the agency and the school or if the student does not comply with conditions set out above.


When booking a course, a 30 % non-refundable deposit is required. Payment can be made ​​in cash, by bank transfer, or by credit card. The balance for tuition and accommodation must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of the course .If the bill has not been paid by the first day of school, the student will not be permitted to attend classes or be allowed to stay in the accommodation originally organized by the school (excluding any household utilities)



Payments can be made in cash, by bank transfer, credit cards or through  Western Union.
Students must pay the taxi service directly to the driver.
Bank charges should be paid by the student .

REDUNDS and penalties

This is TLC/LLLV’s cancellation policy:

Refunds   will be made payable for cancellations according to the number of days prior the start of the course, as is stated in the confirmation form approved by ISO 9001-2008 Quality Standards

Refunds will be paid as follows and do not include bank charges: 

70% of the total  in the case of cancellation between  30 to 16 days prior to the start date of the course

50% of the total  in the case of cancellation between  15 and 8 days prior to the start date of the course

No refunded will be provided for 7 or less days prior to the start of the course

The above is also applicable for clients who have not paid for the course. The cancellation policy becomes applicable 30 days prior to the start of the course regardless of payment status and penalties will be applicable as listed above

These penalties are applicable also in the case of not having provided notification of the course cancellation

No penalties will be applied over  30 days notice

30% of the total cost of the course will be applied from 30 to 16 days prior to the beginning of the course  

50% of the total cost of the course will be applied from 15 and 8 days prior to the beginning of the course 

70% for cancellations after  7 days prior to the beginning of the course 


No refunds will be provided if students decide they do not want to attend the course or  to interrupt their course after it has started.
No refund will be provided for late arrivals or early departures with the exception of special circumstances (certified death or disease of family members).
No refund will be provided for missed lessons.

Students may be allowed to change their accommodation only under particular circumstances and for very serious reasons as stated in the section “ Accommodation Rules”.

You are eligible  for a refund only if you have given at least 4 weeks’ notice.


La Lingua La Vita offers support to students applying for a student Visa known as a permesso di soggiorno. The school will provide students who require a visa all the relevant information about obtaining a visa and  all the necessary paperwork that you need to submit to Embassy or Italian Consulate before their arrival. Once you have reached Italy the school will help students complete all the relevant  paperwork ( fill in forms,  send documentation  through the post office, managing interviews with La Questura of Perugia).

The school strongly recommends students to get appropriate medical cover before travelling to Italy.  LLLV has insurance cover as required by Italian Law for students while on the school premises and involved in outdoor activities organized by the school.
