Trips and excursions
La Lingua La Vita staff organize guided trips to Umbria’s important cities (for example: Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Bevagna, Spello, Orvieto) for small groups (usually a maximum of four students per car as we never use buses) and provide an expert guide who is informed and always ready to respond to questions you may have, including linguistic ones.
During these afternoon excursions, you might visit such things as olive oil mills and wineries to better know how to recognize and taste the best local oils and wines - the latter usually accompanied by delectable bruschette garnished with Umbria’s renowned extra-virgin olive oil and, perhaps, by our local black truffles.
Our students also may visit and even participate in some of the region’s traditional festivals like the Corsa dei Ceri in Gubbio (a festival of saints in May with some similarity to the famed running of the bulls at Pamplona), the Corsa dell’Anello at Narni (literally the city’s ‘circle fest’), and the Mercato dei Gaite at Bevagna, a costumed heritage festival evoking a picturesque Medieval market fair.
